Relations and trust

Recently when I was attending a session, during a short break all the attendees had a brief discussion on being single child. Most of the attendees were single child and while discussion, one boy who was a single child to his parents asked me “Anagha, How is your brother? Don’t you get frustrated by your brother and don’t you feel like you are victimized due to your brother’s actions? Because many of my friends used to say their brothers or sisters were very nasty and had a big enmity to their siblings. ”
I was very surprised on hearing those questions because my brother is one of the gifts from God that I consider is the most precious one that I ever got. It was true that we had fights. But those fights rarely extended beyond one day. I also remember those fighting happened only when we were children. Now when I recollect the time I had spent with him, I realize that 95% of the moments that I shared with him were the moments when I really laughed to the core even without caring about the surroundings. After the discussions we had I even felt my life would have been incomplete without him.
Not only this but I  have heard several persons complaining about their family most of the times that they are very strict, won’t even check for their preferences and don’t have any freedom etc.. Also I have heard from many of the girls that they never traveled alone in train (the fact that those who said this was elder than me made me surprising). During these instances I have felt very proud to have born in a family that gave me enough freedom to distinguish between what is wrong and what is right.              The most important thing I felt while I was rationalizing the cause for this difference in this treatment by my family when compared to other was trust. First of all the person be a girl or a boy should have a trust on themselves that they won’t go in a wrong path. For each person, in life a point will definitely come when he or she has to take a decision between an easy but unethical and difficult but ethical. Being ethical gives you a sense of trust of yourself and also in relations you are maintaining.
It is always essential to maintain good relationship with at least to one’s family members. Because the fact that someone is out there to whom you can always rely upon gives you a sense of security and also inspires one to work more ethically.

Here the most difficult thing in maintaining a relation is maintaining the level of trust involved. It is okay if you couldn't fulfill the promise you gave to them or its okay you couldn't spent time with them. It just need your honest reply to patch up the fight you had with someone due to some instances as mentioned above. But once you breach the trust, the entire relation is gone. One may have to give up something too big if you are breaching the small five letter word trust.
